Toula (played by Nia Vardalos) grew up in America, but she lives in a giant Greek world. Growing up, Toula witnessed the eccentric behavior of her family members and heard the most from her mother and neurotic grandmother: marry a Greek, have a bunch of Greek kids, and feed yourself until the end of the world. At the age of 30, Toula is messy and overweight. One rainy night, she listens to her father's nagging. However, when she steps into the family restaurant day after day, she decides to change her fate! She goes to school, tidies up her appearance at the beauty salon, and when she exudes confidence, her destined prince charming, Ian (played by John Corbett), appears. They fall in love at first sight and can't wait to start their own new family. For this large Greek family, Ian is undoubtedly an outsider. The complexities and struggles of the wedding have just begun, and the clash of different values leads to a series of laughter.
