Carlos Galindo(Demián Bichir) is an undocumented immigrant who illegally crossed the border from Mexico to the United States. His wife has left him, and now he and his 14-year-old son Luis Galindo rely on each other. Luis faces discrimination and bullying from his classmates at school due to their undocumented status, but he remains silent when his father asks about it, creating a growing rift between them. In order to provide a better life for himself and his son, Carlos works tirelessly as a landscaper, doing odd jobs like trimming lawns for wealthy Americans. His boss, who wants to return to his home country, decides to sell his used truck and landscaping equipment. Hoping to make more money, Carlos borrows money from his sister to buy the boss's old truck and the necessary equipment. However, one day Carlos's beloved old truck is stolen by a local troublemaker named Santiago (Carlos Linares). Desperate and worried, Carlos and his son finally have an open and honest conversation, restoring their bond. Together, they embark on a journey to find the stolen truck and restore their livelihood.
